Gypsy Mermaid Witches Cupboard Halloween Swap

Sarah over at Gypsy Mermaid Life hosted the Gypsy Mermaid Witches Cupboard Halloween Swap. What a wonderful time we have had making things for your Partners. My partner was the Wonderful Stefanie from Germany has two wonderful blogs. One she displays her art and collections on, the Other her lovely cats and dogs, garden, and decorations. She is a sweet lady and mother of 3 children. I have really enjoyed making a new friend.

As I opened my gift from her, I found this wonderful Ghostly napkin and a Fall Napkin with leaves on it.

I removed the napkins, and found this postcard showing me where my gift came from. Look at all of the wonderful gifts in there. Orange witches hat, ATC, those awesome leaves..You can see the veins in it, and looks like it is made of thread. The green package is a package of Halloween Kleenex. So sweet.. Teddy Bear...( I love Teddy Bears =) )

Here is everything taken out of the box. I love the black and white wrapping paper. They were wrapped so beautifully I didn't think I would open them. HA HA NOT!!! I couldn't wait to see what goodies I would find.

Look at all these wonderful things. A Witches Recipe Journal, Magic Box, A wonderful China tea cup and saucer, "Olive/Pickle thongs, a Silver "Cauldron", Vintage buttons, and some YUMMY Chocolate from Germany. Close Ups follow.

Isn't the Tea Cup and Saucer, The Silver Dish, and Thongs beautiful. I just love them.

The Witches Recipes Journal, I love it...It is so beautiful!!!! I love the Mushrooms she put on the front. The Wicked witch and Velvet flower and trims..so awesome. She also sent me a Pumpkin Bread recipe. I have some recipes that I will start putting in it this weekend.

I love the leaves, I am not sure how they were made, but it looks like a bunch of woven threads, you can see the veins of the leaves, so cool. The miniature orange Witches hat with spider webs. I do not think I have ever seen a Witch hat that small, it is so CUTE. The napkins are wonderful also, leaves with smiling faces and ghost on them The Halloween Kleenex are cool, I love Teddy Bears, And this Teddy Bear is holding his Pumpkin.

Check out my Witches MAGIC box, it had many treasures inside of it. The beautiful Fall bracelet, Vintage buttons, and some WONDERFUL chocolates.

In My Pocket Challenge

Over at Ink on my Fingers - Hels new "In My Pocket Challenge" the theme was Buttons. You have to draw and make sure your pocket is 7"long X 3.75" wide. The only other rule is that you have to HIDE the theme inside of the pocket. You fold your card over at the 3" mark, and that's your pocket.

This is the front of my pocket. I took Quick Quotes Powder Puffs Bloody Mary and distressed and colored the background of the card stock. Then with Stazon I stamped the whole card with my Paris Moments Collage Stamp, from Hampton Art Stamps. I then colored them in with Derwent watercolor pencils and Stamp Craft Markers. I had some Vintage Wallpaper that I cut the stitching off of for the front panel, I used Prima paper flowers and Making Memories Brads. The tab and Charm are held on with the Brads

The inside was also distress and colored with the Powder Puffs. I also used the Paris Collage Stamp to stamp the background of the inside of the Pocket, then colored the stamp in with the same pencils and markers. I distressed the post cards, envelope, letter, and couple with Powder Puffs. Paris is from the Vintage Wallpaper, is also distressed with Powder Puffs. The collage papers are from Red Lead Paper Works - Mica Charm Collage Image Sheets. I used the Prima flowers on the inside also, along with Vintage Buttons from an Estate sale on the inside of my flap.

Vintage Finds

Recently Kell, IL held their city wide Rummage Sales. And of course I had to go and check out all the rummage sales. It took me almost 3 hours to hit all the sales but did I find some awesome things.

I found the beautiful bowl. It has flowers on the front and back, then has raised flowers on each side. The bowl is registered, it has a number on the bottom. I am not sure what it is, but I am researching it. If you have any information, please contact me.


Here is the back side of the bowl with the pretty little flower.
I love the raised flower that is on both sides. The bowl is in perfect condition. It is a powder blue with purple and white flowers. The top edge of the bowl is scalloped.

I love this square table cloth. It has flowers all over it. The flowers are 2 shades of pink. It is hand embroidered with the flowers appliqued on it then embroidered around them. It would cover a small table, I have it on my sewing cabinet and is short too short to cover it from side to side.

These beautiful napkins go along with the beautiful table cloth. Six napkins go along with the table cloth. The table cloth and napkins are in excellent condition.

My find of the day was this box of Vintage seam binding and a few packages of Vintage rick rack. There was also a few Vintage buttons in the box also. I paid 25c for the WHOLE box...I couldn't believe it!! Some of the Vintage Rick Rack was only .10c. WOW!

I also found this wicker basket full of Vintage Rick Rack, with a few spools of ribbon. If you look in front of the basket there is a old green wooden thread spool, they have wrapped it with ribbon. Such a cute idea. There was also a Buckle kit and some grommets. I also paid .25c for the basket of goodies.

This Singer Width Extension Guide was in the bottom of the box of rick rack. It looks like it was never used. The envelope is very brittle and discolored.

I found a large shopping bag of Crochet thread. I believe there was 25 spools of the Crochet thread, a couple projects that had been started, and two crochet hooks. I paid $5.oo for the whole lot of them.. I was so happy to find this I am trying to learn how to make the little Rosettes that everyone is using on their scrapbook pages.


This table runner is very pretty sorry for the picture not being too good. The center of the sewing is a "crown" with a red rose as the jewel with flowers and vines to each side of the crown. There is red stitching all the way around the table runner.

Repeated several times around the sides of the table runner is this pretty grouping of flowers.


I have always loved dolls and when I seen her I could pass her up. Especially since they were only asking $2.00. The elderly lady said she had so many of them and wanted others to be able to enjoy them like she has all her life.

I still am not sure why I picked these up, I guess because they are so cute. And they remind me of the coffee pot that I seen Mom use for many years. She made coffee on the stove instead of a Machine when I was a little girl.

Vintage Finds

A good friend of mine and I have been going around hitting the flea markets and thrift stores the past few months. We have found alot of really cool "finds". I thought it was time to share some of my goody's.






On this shelf you will see my old canning jars of Vintage buttons. My friend (which I will not mention her name) and I were chatting one day and she commented she needed some buttons, not knowing I was on eBay...Joking I said I could win us some buttons. I bid 50c over the other bid. Not expecting to win...but YES I did, I am now the PROUD owner of 12lbs. of buttons from an Estate. I also love Valentine's, said friend also graced me with the beautiful Vintage Valentine's, a couple she made me. The Heart Pillows I made along with the quilt square with my Vintage Buttons on it.



We were at O'Fallon Thrift store, O'Fallon, Illinois. We found this wonderful Vintage Lamp. The jar is one of the Old Blue Ball canning jars with the metal canning lid. The lid has the lamp unit inserted into it...I love it setting on top of my sewing machine cabinet. It is full of wonderful Vintage Buttons




This beautiful basket was my Grandma's. I can remember it sitting by her machine and by her chair when she was darning or sewing something. The Vintage sewing items I found in O'Fallon also.






I love finding old embroidery floss...there is Coat's and Clark, several different brands that I had never heard of. That basket is full of all colors of threads.

I found these Vintage Embroidery Floss at the St. Clair Antique Mall, in St. Clair, Illinois.

I love these "shabby" vintage flowers...they look so beautiful sitting on my sewing cabinet.

I love this little tea pot. On the lid there is a little tea pot, a cup and saucer, and a saucer with a wedge of pie. I also found the Vintage table runner, Its so pretty.
